Teaching is the best profession on the planet. Apply to the Texas A&M University Graduate Certification Program by Oct. 1. If accepted, join the aggieTERM residency and receive a paycheck competitive to a beginning teacher during your placement in a 1-year teacher preparation program. You will become a certified teacher and earn a Master's degree while you gain the practical experience and skills required to make a lasting impact on K-12 learners in high-need school districts in Texas.

Two Options Available

OPTION A: Graduate Certificate Program (GCP): Master's degree program and teaching certification.
- Eligibility: 2.75 on a 4.0 scale, minimum of 18 content-area credit hours, passing score on PACT exam.
- Enter the classroom as the “Teacher of Record” for the 2024-2025 school year
- Apply to the GCP by Dec.1
OPTION B: Graduate Certificate Program and Aggie Teacher Education Residency Model (aggieTERM)
Master's degree program, teaching certification, additional mentoring support, professional development and living wage stipend.
- Continue to fulfill the M.Ed. courses/requirements
- Enter the classroom as a “Resident Teacher”, teaching in and with an experienced mentor teacher's classroom for the 2024-2025 school year
- Earn a salary of $2,000 less starting teacher pay
- Receive employee benefits offered by the district
- Student Loan Forgiveness may be available!
- A 3-year Intent to Serve contract in the district is required (1 year residency + 2 years as Teacher of Record with continued supports)
- Once admitted into the GCP through Option A, then you are now eligible for Option B. The aggieTERM application (which takes just 15-minutes to complete) will be emailed to you in January
