May 31, 2023—Students from Bridgeland and Cypress Woods high schools had their projects selected as finalists in the NASA High School Students United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) program.
May 30, 2023—Cypress Ridge, Cypress Woods and Cypress Creek high school audio/video production (AVP) students earned the top three places in the 2022-2023 School Public Service Announcement Video Contest. Facilitated through a partnership between Crime Stoppers of Houston and the FBI Houston Citizens Academy Alumni, Cypress Ridge won for a third consecutive year, Cypress Woods earned second place for a second straight year and Cypress Creek placed third.
April 12, 2023—Cypress Woods High School Audio Video Production (AVP) students earned two Standard of Excellence in Scholastic Broadcast Journalism awards at the National Student Television Network (STN) Conference March 15-19 in Long Beach, Calif.
March 31, 2023—Ten CFISD students from four high schools placed in the top three at the 2023 University Interscholastic League (UIL) Young Filmmakers Festival, marking the first time in CFISD history that multiple participants earned top honors in the competition.
Jan. 24, 2022—Cypress Ridge High School junior Manmut Libam-Libock and Cypress Ranch High School sophomore Travis Huggins won first place in their respective competition divisions at the sixth annual CFISD High School Cupcake Battle, held Jan. 20 at the Berry Center.
Dec. 12, 2022—The CFISD Board of Trustees approved Mike and Darlene Jarrar as the namesakes for the arena of the CFISD Exhibit Center during their regularly scheduled meeting on Dec. 12.
Aug. 9, 2022—Jersey Village High School Class of 2022 graduate Logan Jaure was recently elected as a state officer for the Texas FFA Association during the organization’s state convention. He will represent Area III at the state level for the 2022-2023 school, becoming the first state officer from Jersey Village and first from CFISD to serve since 1997.

Sept. 9, 2021—Dr. Shaneka Hampton-Longoria, Cypress Park High School health science teacher, recently completed a sports medicine internship rotation with the United States Olympic and Paralympic teams, giving her real-life experience she is now able to use in her classroom. The rotation also emphasized her education and training, as Hampton-Longoria faced an emergency situation on her final day but was able to provide medical assistance to an injured athlete.

Feb. 1, 2021—Cypress Springs High School senior Tatyana Ingram is recognized by her teachers for her involvement with the Panteras dance team and achievements in the classroom.

Feb. 4, 2021—Cypress Springs High School senior Antonio Valle has been recognized in a variety of ways through his interests in school. Through his participation in art, orchestra, Peer Assistance & Leadership (PALs) and in the classroom, Valle has made his impact as an accomplished student, all while being legally blind.
