Orthopedic Impairment (OI)
Definition
A student with an orthopedic impairment is one who has been determined to meet the criteria for orthopedic impairment (a severe orthopedic impairment that adversely affects a child's educational performance, including impairments caused by congenital anomalies, diseases and other causes)
Required Eligibility Forms
- FIE (including present levels of performance and recommendations for students who are eligible)
- Evaluation report for orthopedic impairment, completed by member of the assessment team
A student’s eligibility based on an orthopedic impairment must include a medical diagnosis provided by a licensed physician.
ARD/IEP Requirements
Follow standard ARD/IEP procedures; no specific supplements are required.
