Destination Imagination (DI)
Destination Imagination is a project-based learning experience that applies the creative process across seven areas—technology, science, engineering, fine arts, improvisation, service learning, and early learning—and is open to teams of students from first grade through university levels. It is also a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage, and curiosity through open-ended challenges. Students use the creative process to turn their ideas into reality and learn invaluable skills through the process. Participants learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, respect for others and their ideas, and the collaborative problem-solving process. Students gain the 21st century skills -- creative and critical thinking, collaboration, and project management -- needed to thrive in school, in careers, and beyond.
Teams have the opportunity to showcase their innovative challenge solutions at Regional and Affiliate competitions and vie for a spot at Global Finals—the world’s largest celebration of creativity.
The Gulf Coast Regional DI Tournament will be Feb. 15, 2025 at Dulles High School in Sugar Land, TX.
Contact the DI Campus Liaison at your child’s school to learn how to become involved. Signed Team Authorization Forms are due by Oct. 25, 2024.
