Da Vinci Day

The Da Vinci Day gathers more than 3,500 HORIZONS students from across the district to engage in a variety of fun, stem-based activities to enrich their learning and experiences.

2026 Da Vinci Day – A Celebration of Learning

📅 Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026

📍 Location: Cypress Lakes High School, 5750 Greenhouse Road, Katy, TX 77449

⏰ Time:

Session A: 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (Assigned session per campus)
Session B: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Assigned session per campus)

🎓 Participants:
CFISD HORIZONS students in Grades 3–5
(Students must be active in the HORIZONS program and enrolled in the district at the time of registration and on the day of the event.)

📘 Note: This is an optional field trip opportunity.

Registration

The ‘Da Vinci Day Payment Item”, “Registration Form”, and “Field Trip Permission Form” will be attached to all identified GT students in grades 3 – 5 in their School Cash account.

Payment for the event is $45.00 and may be made in School Cash at the following: https://cypress-fairbanksisd.schoolcashonline.com/

Payment window available Monday, Dec. 8 –12, 2025.

NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE AFTER FEBRUARY 6, 2026.

Field Trip Information

PARTICIPANTS
CFISD students in grades 3–5 who are active in the HORIZONS program at the time of registration.

STUDENT DRESS
Suggested clothing for the trip is regular school attire.

ACTIVITY KIT
All students will receive an activity kit to take home on the day of the event.

ACTIVITIES
Students will participate in a STEM team experience, including a problem-solving, project-based activity designed for their age group.

DIY Orbot – “Put your own spin on a pair of remote-controlled Orbots that you design, and test your engineering skills.”

Sessions

TIME: Event start times are staggered to facilitate boarding and unloading of buses. Campuses will be assigned one of two sessions. Students must attend the assigned session for their campus for the entirety of the event.

Session A: 8:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. (Assigned session per campus)
Session B: 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Assigned session per campus)
