Dear Parents and Guardians,

While Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District no longer provides nor carries a supplemental insurance policy on all athletes, managers, and student trainers, we are pleased to announce that CFISD has contracted with Student Assurance Services who will administer the student accident insurance program for purchase for the 2025-2026 school year. Student Assurance Services offers parents/guardians the opportunity to purchase this insurance as a primary insurance if they do not currently have one or as a supplement to their primary insurance for accident and injury coverage.

The Student Accident Insurance parents can purchase is a voluntary supplemental coverage and is available to any enrolled CFISD student for a single annual premium payment with numerous options. You can review coverage, enroll, and make your premium payment on-line at Student Assurance Services.

Please note that CFISD staff are not permitted to file claims on behalf of any student. Parents and/or guardians are solely responsible for filing their own claims and working directly with the insurance carrier. It is also important to note that parents and/or guardians must purchase the insurance before an incident occurs to ensure coverage.

Participation in this program is strictly voluntary. In accordance with the Texas Tort Claims Act, please be reminded that CFISD cannot legally be responsible for costs of treating student injuries or assume liability for any other costs associated with an injury at school or any school related function unless the personal injury is caused by a district employee's negligent operation of a motor vehicle while performing district duties. Please note that this insurance coverage offered is a limited benefit policy, and any medical doctor or facility charges above the policy limits are ultimately the parents or guardians’ responsibility.
