CFISD track and field athletes qualify for the 2025 UIL State Meet
Cypress Ranch High School senior Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi qualified for the UIL Track and Field State Meet in Austin after placing second in the Region II-6A girls’ 400-meter dash at the Region II-6A meet.
April 30, 2025—CFISD track and field teams will send seven girls’ entries and seven boys’ entries to the UIL Track and Field State Meet, May 1-3 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. The Class 6A events will be May 3. Athletes qualified after placing in their respective events at the Region II-6A meet at Waco Midway High School and Region III-6A meet at Clear Creek ISD’s Challenger Stadium.
Bridgeland High School senior Benjamin Montgomery qualified for the UIL Track and Field State Meet after placing first in the Region II-6A boys’ 3200-meter dash and the 1600-meter dash.
The following girls qualified for the Class 6A state meet:
- Bridgeland’s Rowan Saacke:
- placed first in the Region II-6A 1600-meter run (4:49)
- placed first in the Region II-6A 3200-meter run (10:44)
- Bridgeland’s Lily Fawcett:
- placed second in the Region II-6A 1600-meter run (4:52)
- placed second in the Region II-6A 3200-meter run (10:56)
- Bridgeland’s Eguonome Akpobassa placed second in the Region II-6A long jump
- Cypress Ranch’s Celeste Robinson:
- placed first in the Region II-6A 100-meter dash (11.28)
- placed first in the Region II-6A 200-meter dash (23.28)
- Cypress Ranch’s Priscilla Adu-Gyamfi placed second in the Region II-6A 400-meter dash (54.12)
- Cypress Ranch’s Haley Baalson placed second in the Region II-6A shot put
- Cypress Woods’ Ahlayna Taylor placed second in the Region II-6A 100-meter dash (11.41)
The following boys qualified for the Class 6A state meet:

- placed first in the Region II-6A 3200-meter dash (9:17)
- placed first in the Region II-6A 1600-meter run (4:12)
- Cypress Springs’ Sam Onwuchekwa placed second in the Region II-6A 100-meter dash (10.17)
- Cypress Lakes’ Julius Malone placed first in the Region II-6A high jump (6-10.00)
- Bridgeland’s Jorden Keith placed second in the Region II-6A pole vault
- Cypress Springs’ 4x100-meter relay team placed second in the Region II-6A 4x100-meter relay—Yogi Martin, Kam Roberson, Paris Melvin, Sam Onwuchekwa (40.56)
- Cypress Creek’s Joshua Keys placed second in the Region III-6A 300-meter hurdles (37.09)
- Jersey Village’s Landon Freeman placed second in the Region III-6A high jump (6-10.00)
- Cypress Creek’s Marlon Cook placed second in the Region III-6A shot put (64-4.50)
