March 21, 2025—Jersey Village High School audio visual production (AVP) students won first place in the UIL State Film Festival Documentary competition held on Feb. 27 at the University of Texas.
The Jersey Village AVP team’s entry was entitled “The Wrong Number One.” Student teams were permitted to submit an original film in four categories:
- Narrative
- Documentary
- Computer/Digital Animation
- Traditional Animation
For the Documentary competition, films were limited to 3-7 minutes. All submissions were scored based on originality, cinematic storytelling and technical execution.
“I’m very proud of JVTV this year,” said Brandy Milson, Jersey Village audio video production teacher. “They’ve shown incredible creativity, hard work and a strong sense of teamwork. It has been a privilege to work alongside them as their executive producer and instructor. CFISD Audio Visual Production programs continue to lead the way in high school production.”
The Cypress Creek High School AVP team placed as finalists in the Documentary competition and Cypress Ridge High School placed as finalists in the Digital Animation competition.
