CFISD names new assistant superintendent of secondary curriculum & instruction

Jan. 31, 2025Dr. Vivian Bennett, principal at Anthony Middle School, was named the new assistant superintendent of secondary curriculum and instruction on Jan. 31. Dr. Bennett replaces Dr. Heather Bergman, who was named director of federal programs and grants in December.

In this role, Dr. Bennett will lead the district’s middle school and high school curriculum and instructional programs while providing support to principals and leadership teams.

Dr. Bennett has served as principal at Anthony since 2017. Prior to this, she served as a director of instruction and an assistant principal at Cypress Ranch High School from 2010-2017. She previously served as an assistant principal at Hopper Middle School from 2007-2010.

Her teaching career began in Alief ISD at Kerr High School (1998-2000), after which she came to CFISD in 2000 to teach at Cypress Falls High School until 2007.

Dr. Bennett earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology Education from Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master of Education in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University. She earned her Doctor of Education in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston.
