Oct. 28, 2024—Sprague Middle School sixth grade student Edison Barton is praised by his teachers for being a talented and accomplished student.

Grade: 6

Accomplishments: Edison is a highly accomplished violinist. He studied at the AFA Music Festival in 2022, the Philadelphia International Music Festival in 2023 and the Interlochen Arts Camp in summer 2024. While at Interlochen, he was invited to perform the first movement of Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 in the Junior Honors recital. Edison also recently earned 4th chair in the Region 27 Middle School Symphony Orchestra.

Favorite class: “Orchestra of course! I love playing my violin and making music with others. I also really like math as well.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to play video games and practice the violin.”

Favorite Song: “Le Campanella by Paganini.”

Favorite Website/App: “Minecraft.”

Ambition: “My ambition is to become an engineer and violinist.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “My violin, my iPad and my family!”
