CFISD students to perform in HRB’s production of The Nutcracker

Oct. 24, 2024—Twenty-three CFISD students have been cast in the Houston Repertoire Ballet’s 26th annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, featuring professional guest artists Léa Fleytoux as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Jake Roxander as the Cavalier, both of the American Ballet Theatre. The HRB company orchestra is directed by Tarana Taylor.

Houston Repertoire Ballet (HRB) is moving its annual performances of The Nutcracker to the new state-of-the-art theater in the CFISD Visual and Performing Arts Center. To make the move into the new theatre, HRB invested $200,000 in newly designed and created sets by the talented designer, Ian Loveall, and creators, Dallas Stage Scenery. In the professional orchestra pit, the production will be accompanied by HRB’s Company Orchestra to perfectly complement The Nutcracker’s brilliant blend of beautiful costumes, lavish new sets and fresh choreography.

The Nutcracker performances are Dec. 7-8 at the CFISD Visual & Performing Arts Center (11420 Matzke Road, Cypress TX 77429), and tickets can be purchased at www.hrbdance.org.
