CFISD crossing guards undergo training conducted by CFISD police officers this summer. Community volunteers can receive the same training to assist with crossings at neighborhood intersections this school year.
Aug. 27, 2024—The CFISD police department will provide free crossing guard training for community volunteers working with homeowner associations (HOAs) and municipal utility districts (MUDs) who are interested in providing additional support throughout the community.
CFISD police officers will conduct the training, which will last approximately two hours. Comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended. Volunteers can register for the training online: https://cyfairisd.formstack.com/forms/crossing_guard_training.
CFISD police officers hold a crossing guard training for CFISD staff members in the summer. Officers will provide additional trainings for interested community volunteers this fall.
This opportunity is for neighborhood groups with community members interested in volunteering at additional intersections in neighborhoods and will not replace CFISD crossing guards, who are trained district staff members assigned to main entry points to campuses.
