Local business partners donate to CFISD schools

Aug. 21, 2024—Percheron LLC, GEICO Houston and Cornerstone Building Brands donated back-to-school supplies and backpacks to Andre’ Elementary School, Arnold Middle School and Bane Elementary School, respectively, for students in need ahead of the 2024-2025 school year.

Percheron LLC donated school supplies including colored pencils and notebooks to Andre on Aug. 8.

“We are thrilled that we had the opportunity to donate to CFISD for the upcoming school year,” said Sabrina Charles, marketing coordinator for Percheron LLC. “We are all about making lives better and we are committed to supporting our communities in any way that we can. As Percheron continues to grow, we will strive to give back even more! We couldn’t have done this without the generous donations from our company and team members.”

Carmen Lozano, Andre’ principal, shared her appreciation to Percheron LLC for giving back to the Andre’ community.

“I am grateful to be part of a school community that understands the importance of giving back and strives to develop our Leopards into future leaders,” said Lozano.

GEICO Houston donated 150 backpacks to Arnold Middle School on Aug. 15. All 150 backpacks were pre-packed with school supplies, including markers and notebooks.

“Through our ‘I Am Ready’ campaign, GEICO employees nationwide mobilized to collect and distribute essential school supplies to students in communities where we live and work,” said David Grace, site operations manager at GEICO’s Houston office. “As proud members of the Houston community, we’re honored to support students at Arnold Middle School, ensuring they have the tools they need to excel in their studies and reach their full potential.”

Amby Clinkscale, Arnold principal, shared excitement for the assistance that the school supply donation will provide students at Arnold.

“Arnold Middle School is extremely grateful for this generous donation of backpacks and school supplies from GEICO,” said Clinkscale. “These items will assist our students in being the best version of themselves. We look forward to distributing them to students once they begin the new school year and we appreciate GEICO supporting our Buccaneers.”

Yvette Garcia, Bane principal, shared gratitude to Cornerstone Building Brands for donating to the Bane community.

“To see the truckload of school supplies put a smile on my face,” said Garcia. “It is companies like Cornerstone Building Brands that help our kids succeed in school, and the impact of their donation is one less thing our parents have to worry about.”
