Jan. 27, 2026—Cypress Ridge High School junior Allison Ramirez is praised by her teachers for being an exceptional student.
School: Cypress Ridge High School
Age: 16
Grade: 11
Accomplishments: Allison received the Big Future scholarship for $40,000. She is also in the college academy and will obtain her associate degree upon graduation while taking four dual credit courses. She participates in four clubs on campus: Women in STEM, NSHS, NAHS, and Interact, with aspirations to become an officer for the Criminal Justice Club. Allison also was named sophomore of the year.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is English 3 dual credit because of how welcoming the teacher is, as well as the subject overall being very relaxing because of the books we read.”
Favorite things to do after class: “My favorite things to do after class are to bake and study. While baking cookies (usually for my family), I listen to videos from YouTube about my classes. For example, I listen to videos about my biology class so I can be prepared for the remainder of the unit.”
Favorite song: “My favorite song is Cherry Waves by Deftones.”
Favorite Website/App: “My favorite app is Youtube for the entertainment provided in each scroll, and you can never be bored with certain creators who post something new each day.”
Favorite TV show: “I love High Potential, though they are in the process of making a second season, its crime-beating and intriguing plots have me hooked. Especially as the characters grow as individuals, not only for their jobs but also for others.”
Favorite movie: “My favorite movie is Iron Man because of the story-based plot and how he was able to build a suit in a cave, surviving on only his wit.”
Ambition: “My sole ambition is to make the top 10 percent this year, so my sister who is a freshman, can look up to me in the future. I also want to pursue my dream of being the first lawyer in my family.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am most passionate about reading and baking because both have been outlets for me during junior year, as it is going to be the most stressful year of my high school career. Baking all sweet treats so I can enjoy them later always makes me happy. As for reading, it provides a world to escape to, becoming a new character each time.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “Three things I cannot live without are my hair products, my mp3 player and my book called Metamorphosis.”
