CFISD Student of the Week: Maisey Cates
Dec. 8, 2025—Keith Elementary School fifth grade student Maisey Cates is praised by her teachers for her positive attitude and being a leader on campus.

Grade: 5
Accomplishments: Cates is an active member of the Keith Cougarette Dance Team and has been chosen “Cougarette of the Week” twice. She demonstrates poise and school pride by hosting and touring Board of Trustee members around campus, and she also serves as a library assistant. She makes excellent choices, is a positive example in the classroom and is great friend. Cates has a sincere love for Keith Elementary School.
Favorite class: “My favorite class is reading because it is a joyful environment, and I love my teachers. They care so much.”
Favorite things to do after class: “I participate in competitive dance – ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary and ballroom. I also enjoy serving at my church.”
Favorite song: “My favorite song is Deeper Well by Kasey Musgraves.”
Favorite website/app: “I like to text because I like making connections with friends.”
Favorite TV show: “My favorite TV show is High Potential because she has a brilliant mind.”
Favorite movie: “I love the Duck Dynasty movie The Blind because of the relationship with God.”
Ambition: “I want to be a CIA or FBI agent because of my favorite TV show. I like thinking about details.”
What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I love Jesus.”
What inspires you?: “My teachers inspire me because of the caring environment.”
What three things can’t you live without?: “I can’t live without Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit and grilled cheese.”
