April 10, 2026—CFISD Director of Fine Arts John Morrison earned the prestigious Administrator of the Year award for 2025 from the Texas Fine Arts Administrators Association (TFAA).
Morrison was recognized at the Texas Music Educators Association convention on Feb. 11 in San Antonio.
The TFAA supports fine arts administrators across the state of Texas with conferences, workshops and other resources. Each year since 1999, the organization has picked one administrator from across the state to honor.
“I am incredibly honored to be recognized by my peers as the TFAA Outstanding Administrator for 2025,” Morrison said. “The award is certainly a reflection of the great Cypress-Fairbanks ISD community and the continued support of our fine arts teachers, students and programs.”
Morrison has served as CFISD’s director of fine arts since 2022. Before that, he was the district’s coordinator of secondary music. He has also worked at both Cypress Falls High School and Hamilton Middle School.
