Harris County Precinct 4 adds four miles of new sidewalks connecting CFISD and Katy ISD
Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones announced the construction of four miles sidewalks connecting CFISD and Katy ISD on Dec. 9 as a part of Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4 initiative that will add 75 miles of sidewalks across CFISD, Alief ISD and Katy ISD.
Dec. 19, 2025—Harris County Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones announced on Dec. 9 that construction has begun on 25 miles of sidewalks across Precinct 4, which includes four miles of sidewalks connecting CFISD and Katy ISD along Greenhouse Road.
The Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4 launched in 2023 with the goal of adding 75 miles of new sidewalks across CFISD, Alief ISD and Katy ISD. The sidewalks along Greenhouse Road provide safe pathways to nine schools, 11 religious organizations, three health centers and dozens of local businesses.

“Every child deserves a safe, clear, reliable path to school and every family deserves safer streets,” said Commissioner Briones. “Our community has been asking for these improvements, and we are delivering them with urgency and care. These new sidewalks will improve daily life for thousands of students and strengthen the connection between Katy ISD and Cy-Fair ISD.”
Cypress Lakes High School senior Alexis Woodall spoke on behalf of students and families that will benefit from the construction of new sidewalks in CFISD at the Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4 press conference on Dec. 9.

Cypress Lakes High School senior Sirron Norris spoke on behalf of students and families that will benefit from the construction of new sidewalks in CFISD at the Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4 press conference Dec. 9.
“This sidewalk is an opportunity for our families to safely get to different places in our community,” said Dr. Killian. “I am thankful for the partnership with Commissioner Briones.”
