March 5, 2026—Representatives from Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness visited the staff at Salyards Middle School on Feb. 16 to officially announce their Adopt-a-School partnership with the campus.
CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community organizations and business partners to utilize community resources to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.
Valerie Webre, manager of Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness, shared that partnering with Salyards allows Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness to give back and invest in the community.
“We chose to sponsor Salyards Middle School because it is right in our backyard and we work with many students and families from this community every day, including several Salyards students at Cypress Martial Arts and Fitness,” Webre said. “The sponsorship also allows us to support the teachers and staff who guide them. Middle school can be a tough time for kids and supporting the educators who work with them every day while having opportunities to make a positive difference in students’ lives is important to us.”

Robert Webre, founder and lead instructor of Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness, center, signed an Adopt-a-School partnership agreement after the community partner announced its official partnership with Salyards Middle School on Feb. 16. He was joined by Valerie Webre, manager of Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness, right, and Steven Miller, Salyards principal, left.
Steven Miller, Salyards principal, expressed his excitement about Cypress Martial Arts & Fitness’ commitment to supporting the campus.
“To me, business adoptions let us know that our campus is surrounded by a community that believes in our school and wants to stand beside us in the work we do every day,” Miller said. “That support sends a powerful message to our students that they matter, their future matters, and that their community is rooting for them. It also reminds our staff that we are not doing this work alone. Business adoptions turn education into a true partnership between school and community, and that makes all the difference.”
