Training & Office Hours

If there's someone at your campus that needs to be trained, send their name to websiteupdates@cfisd.net so that we may add them to our roster. 

Current web editors are welcome to retake the initial training. 

This year, all initial trainings will be in-person.

Training dates and times are subject to change. Search on CFPGS for course #21796 "Campus Web Editor NEW USER Training (Finalsite)" for the current trainings offered.Prerequisite: Web Accessibility Online Training (30 minutes) - Instructions are sent directly to new web editors.

Current web editors that attended the initial training may benefit from a "refresher" to sharpen their skills and learn new features. Virtual trainings are held on Microsoft Teams.​​​​

High school web editors have additional site permissions that may require personalized assistance.

How are Office Hours different from a Refresher Training? At a Refresher Training, we present step-by-step training on a topic, such as Calendars or Boards. During Office Hours, we allow attendees to ask a question regarding an issue with their website.  

What if I can't join at exactly 3 p.m.? You can join any time between 3 and 4 p.m.  

Do I need to stay for the entire hour? No, you can drop off the meeting anytime. Some stay to learn from the questions that others ask. Some leave to get back to work after their question is answered. 

Do I need a camera and a microphone? A camera is optional. It helps to have a microphone so you can better explain your issue. You can also join on your cell phone to have access to a mic. Without a mic, you can still ask a question using the chat. 

What kind of questions can I ask during Office Hours? You can ask anything about your campus website! We’re here to help you with Composer and to troubleshoot issues. We can answer questions such as “Why is my newsletter not displaying?” or “How do I add a table in my post?” or “Where do I edit my admin team photo?” 

Will I get PD credit for attending Office Hours? No, Office Hours is not a class, so no credit is granted.

We will be holding Virtual Office Hours once a week on most Wednesdays at 3 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. No need to register--simply join the meeting sometime between 3 and 4 p.m. In Outlook, you can view and add the Website Updates Calendar to remind you of upcoming Office Hours. During office hours, you can ask us anything--no question is too big or too small!
