Julie Hinaman has served on the Board of Trustees since June of 2019, when she was appointed to a vacant Position 2. She was then elected to a four-year term in November 2019. A 16-year resident of CFISD, Mrs. Hinaman is a resident of the Cole’s Crossing subdivision with her husband, Alan, and two children, Allie and Amy, who are both students at Cypress Woods High School.
As a CFISD Global Volunteer, Mrs. Hinaman volunteers on a regular basis at Cypress Woods, Cypress Falls and Cypress Creek high schools and Spillane Middle School. She mentors students through the CFISD Mentor program and is a mentor/coach with the Cy-Hope Ambassadors of Compassion program. She volunteered as a CFISD Bus Buddy for Duryea and Wilson elementary schools in 2019.
Mrs. Hinaman has served as chair of the CFISD Community Leadership Committee and co-chair of the CFISD Long Range Planning Committee that helped develop the 2019 CFISD Bond recommendation. She also serves on the Cypress Woods band booster club, the Cypress Woods drill team booster club and the Spillane CPOC committee. She was named the CFISD Friend of Education during the 2018 Wall of Fame Ceremony, and received the 2019 State Board of Education Heroes for Children Award.
In addition to her volunteer duties in CFISD, Mrs. Hinaman is also a member of the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce, the Cy-Fair League of Women Voters, Cy-FARE, National Charity League (Cypress Gems) and 100 Women Who Care, Cy-Fair.
