Q. Are CFPD Officers real police officers?
A. Yes. All CFPD Officers are licensed peace officers. They are certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
 
Q. Is the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department open 24 hours a day?
A.  Yes.  CFISD is a full service law enforcement agency open 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
 
Q. Can CFPD officers make arrests off campus?
A. Yes. They have the authority to make arrests both on and off campus. 
 
Q. Can a CFPD officer issue a traffic ticket?
A. Yes. CFPD officers are authorized to issue traffic citations. CFPD has traffic units that monitor speed in school zones using radar, on or off school property.
 
Q: What court do I go to if I get a ticket?
A: Tickets issued by CFISD Police Officers are adjudicated in the Justice of the Peace Courts in Harris County.
 
Q: What happens if I don't pay my ticket?
A: If you do not appear in court or pay your fine, the court may issue a warrant for your arrest. Any police officer may arrest you once the warrant is issued.
 
Q: I need to speak with someone regarding an issue that occurred on my child's school bus away from their campus. Whom do I call?
A: Call the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department at (281)897-4337.
 
Q. I am working with a CFISD PD Investigator.  I need to contact the Investigator assigned to my case.  What number do I call?
A. Call the CFPD 24 hour number at (281)897-4337 and ask for the Investigations Division.
 
Q. Can CFISD PD Officers work outside police extra jobs not affiliated with the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD?
A. Yes. Outside extra jobs go through an administrative review and departmental approval process. You may frequently see a CFISD Police Officer in a CFISD uniform working events outside our primary jurisdiction such as traffic control, community events, churches, restaurants, movie theaters, and sporting events.
