The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Family Support Group is coming to CFISD starting in January 2020! NAMI Family Support Group is a confidential group for loved ones living with mental illness. As a loved one of a person with mental illness, guardians/caregivers can face unique challenges: complex family dynamics, social isolation, and often unpredictable aspects of the illness. It can all be overwhelming.

Through NAMI Family Support Group guardians/caregivers can:

  • Find hope and support by connecting with others who face similar challenges
  • Be part of a community and experience a sense of belonging
  • Improve coping skills and discover inner strength
  • Learn from the collective knowledge and experience of other participants

NAMI Family Support Group will be held for 12 weeks starting in January 2020. To learn more about this free resource, guardians are invited to attend the orientation meeting on December 10, 2019 from 6:00 pm-7:00 pm at the CFISD Police Department.
