Mike has served as assistant chief of police for the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Police Department since June of 2012. He began his law enforcement career as a deputy sheriff for the Matagorda County Sheriff’s Office on January 1, 1977. Mike also served as chief of police in Bay City and Meadows Place for a combined total of 24 ½ years. He is a member of several professional organizations, having served as president of the Houston Area Police Chiefs’ Association in 2011. Mike holds Master Peace Officer, Police Instructor, School Based Law Enforcement Officer, and Mental Health Officer certificates from the Texas Commission On Law Enforcement.
Mike received both his Bachelor of Police Science and Masters of Criminal Justice degrees from Sam Houston State University. He is a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas Leadership Command College. He has also earned the Certified Public Manager designation from the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service / Texas State University.
