75th Anniversary emblems decorate district throughout 2014-2015

November 21, 2014

All CFISD school buses have been affixed with a 75th anniversary seal to commemorate 75 years of excellence during the 2014-2015 school year.

Nov. 21, 2014—The emblem commemorating the 75th anniversary of Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District can be found throughout the community this fall.

The logo, modeled after the CFISD seal with the 75th anniversary slogan (“Our Children, Our Schools, Our Community”) has been placed on all CFISD school buses and CFISD Police Department vehicles.

“We wanted to do something that would tell the community it’s our 75th anniversary and we’re proud of it,” said Kristina Perez, director of community programs and 75th anniversary planning committee co-chair. “The school buses are among our biggest icons, and the police vehicles represent one of our newest departments taking pride into an established district and standard of excellence.”

Beginning on the morning of Dec. 9—exactly 75 years to the day the consolidation of the Cypress and Fairbanks school systems—a flag bearing the 75th anniversary logo will fly in front of every district building throughout the remainder of the 2014-2015 school year.

CFISD will celebrate the 75th anniversary with the unveiling of a commemorative marker in front of Cy-Fair High School at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

CFISD Police Department vehicles, like this one shown in front of Cy-Fair High School, proudly display the 75th anniversary logos.

Flags bearing the 75th anniversary emblem and “75 Years of Leading” will be flown outside of every district building beginning on Dec. 9.
