Bobcats clinch 17-6A title; four teams enter postseason

Nov. 12, 2017—The District 17-6A football season wrapped up on Nov. 11, with Cy-Fair High School completing a 9-0 undefeated record to clinch the district championship.

Langham Creek (8-1) was the runner-up, Cypress Ranch (6-2) placed third and Cypress Falls (5-4) finished fourth, allowing all three to advance with the Bobcats to the UIL playoffs.

Cypress Ranch and Cypress Falls, representing the two largest school enrollments, will participate in the Class 6A Division I bracket. Cy-Fair and Langham Creek will compete in Division II.

The following bi-district playoff matchups are set for next week:

  • Cy-Fair will play Westside on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Pridgeon Stadium (11499 Bobcat Road);
  • Langham Creek will face Houston Heights on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium (8877 Barker Cypress Road);
  • Cypress Ranch will meet Bellaire on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium; and
  • Cypress Falls will clash with Lamar on Friday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at Delmar Stadium (1900 Mangum Road).

Pre-sale tickets for all games will be sold for $7 (adults reserved and general admission) and $5 (students) apiece, while tickets at the gate will be sold for $10 apiece.

For the Cy-Fair, Langham Creek and Cypress Ranch home playoff games, season ticket holders can repurchase their season ticket seats beginning on Monday, Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. through 11:59 pm. on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Additional available reserved and general admission seats may be purchased beginning Wednesday morning, Nov. 15 at 8 a.m.

For Cypress Falls’ away playoff game at Delmar Stadium, online general admission ticket sales will be available beginning on Nov. 13 at 8 a.m. for the entire community. No reserved tickets are available for this game. 

Tickets may be purchased online at cy-fairtix.com or at the athletic office in the Berry Center. Athletic office ticket sale hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday. All presale ticket sales will cut off at 2 p.m. on the day of the Friday games, and at 8 a.m. Saturday for the Cypress Ranch game.

Senior Andre Barnes III (11) and the Cypress Falls Golden Eagles will face Lamar in the Region III-6A Division I bi-district playoffs on Nov. 17 at Delmar Stadium.
