Boys basketball playoffs continue for 2 CFISD teams in area round

Feb. 20, 2019—Two CFISD boys’ basketball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the Class 6A playoffs and moved to the area round, while Cy-Fair, Cypress Creek, Cypress Ridge and Cypress Ranch high schools concluded their seasons and finished as bi-district finalists.

Cypress Creek and Cy-Fair high schools saw their boys’ basketball seasons end in the bi-district round of the playoffs. The Cougars and Bobcats finished as District 17-6A’s second and third seeds, respectively.

Cypress Springs High School defeated Round Rock McNeil 63-49. The Panthers advance to face Klein Forest at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Tomball High School (30330 Quinn Road).

The Langham Creek High School boys’ basketball team advanced to the area round following a 64-61 win over Round Rock. The Lobos will face Aldine Eisenhower at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Klein Cain High School.

Langham Creek High School defeated Round Rock 64-61. The Lobos advance to face Aldine Eisenhower at 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road).

Tickets for both games will be sold at the gate for $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Cypress Creek was defeated by Houston Lamar 66-51. The Cougars were District 17-6A’s second seed.

Cy-Fair was defeated by Houston Bellaire 65-55. The Bobcats were District 17-6A’s third seed.

Cypress Ranch was defeated by Austin Vandegrift 46-44. The Mustangs were District 14-6A’s co-champions.

Cypress Ridge was defeated by Houston Sam Houston 67-55. The Rams were District 17-6A’s fourth seed.
