Boys’ basketball playoffs continue for five CFISD teams in area round

Five CFISD teams advance to area roundCypress Park High School senior AJ Ferguson (No. 32) and the Tigers defeated Klein Forest and advanced to face Spring Westfield at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Klein High School.

Feb. 23, 2021—The Cypress Creek, Cypress Lakes, Cypress Park, Cypress Ranch and Cypress Woods high school boys’ basketball teams advanced past the bi-district round of the UIL class 6A playoffs and move on to the area round, while Cy-Fair High School concluded its season.

Cypress Creek High School defeated Houston Lamar, 67-63, in double overtime. The Cougars advance to face Fort Bend Travis at 5 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Katy ISD’s Merrell Center (6301 S. Stadium Lane).

Cypress Lakes High School defeated Klein, 58-55, in double overtime. The Spartans advance to face Aldine Davis at 6 p.m. on Feb. 25 at Cypress Falls High School (9811 Huffmeister Road).

Cypress Park High School defeated Klein Forest, 75-66. The Tigers advance to face Spring Westfield at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Klein High School (16715 Stuebner Airline Road).

Cypress Ranch High School defeated Klein Cain, 54-49. The Mustangs advance to face The Woodlands College Park at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Magnolia West High School (42202 FM Road 1774) in Magnolia.

Cypress Woods High School defeated Klein Oak, 69-43. The Wildcats advance to face The Woodlands at 7 p.m. on Feb. 24 at Klein Cain High School (10201 Spring Cypress Road).

Tickets for all games with the exception of Cypress Creek are $5 each for adults and $3 each for students.

Cypress Park and Cypress Woods game tickets will be sold through Klein ISD.

Cypress Lakes and Cypress Ranch game tickets will be sold at the door.

Cypress Creek games tickets are $5 each (adults and students) will be sold through Katy ISD.

Cy-Fair High School was defeated by Houston Heights, 64-54. The Bobcats were District 17-6A’s third seed and finished the season as bi-district finalists.
