CFISD Destination Imagination teams advance to Global Finals

April 22, 2021—Three CFISD Destination Imagination teams will be competing in the Global Finals after advancing from the Lone Star Finals Affiliate Tournament that was held virtually March 5-19.

Destination Imagination aims to encourage teamwork for students in kindergarten through 12th grade by asking teams to complete challenges using imagination, collaboration and creativity. This year’s virtual model challenged teams to showcase their technical skills and innovation in different ways.

The following CFISD schools advanced to the Global Finals:

·       Team DA Nerds from Rennell Elementary School placed fourth in Engineering—Built to Last. Team members are Kenley Christopher, Hannah Eappen, Vir Khera, Aryan Shah and Elliot Shepard;

·       Team Wells Problem Solvers from Wells Elementary School placed fourth in Engineering—Built to Last. Team members are Arhaan Baig, Atharv Komirelly, Yuwei Li, Woody Liu, Arya Prasad and Manav Rajashekar;

·       Team Majestic Firebreathing Toast from Cypress Ranch High School placed second in Technical—The Next Level. Team members are Mihir Bhatia, Ria Bhatia, Oliver Scoble and John Wright.
