Feb. 4, 2019—CFISD principals selected Hairgrove Elementary School Principal Darynda Klein and Cypress Ridge High School Principal Stephanie Meshell as district representatives for the 2018-2019 Region 4 Principal of the Year award last week.
Klein, the elementary winner, and Meshell, the secondary winner, will be recognized at the Region 4 Education Service Center Principal Recognition Ceremony on April 3 at Hotel ZaZa.
Klein has 26 years in education, including 13 years in administration – all of them at Hairgrove. She has served as principal since 2010.
“There are so many benefits to working in CFISD, and one is the opportunity to collaborate with other principals that I admire,” Klein said. “To be chosen by my peers as Principal of the Year for elementary means so much to me. I know firsthand how hard every principal works in CFISD, so I am truly honored. I would like to share this recognition with the amazing staff members at Hairgrove Elementary. Their dedication to student success and belief in every student makes my job even more enjoyable and rewarding.”
Cypress Ridge High School Principal Stephanie Meshell was selected as the 2018-2019 Secondary Principal of the Year.
Meshell has 27 years of experience in classroom and administrative education. She has served as principal at Cypress Ridge since 2013.
“I know it is the success of our staff and students coupled with the support of my peers that continue to shape me and allow these opportunities to come my way,” Meshell said. “I am humbled and honored for me and I am very excited for Cypress Ridge High School and our community to be in the spotlight together.”
