Jan. 29, 2020—CFISD principals selected Hoover Elementary School Principal Michelle Rice and Cypress Woods High School Principal Gary Kinninger as district representatives for the 2019-2020 Region 4 Principal for the Year award last week.

Rice and Kinninger will be recognized at the Region 4 Education Service Center Principal Recognition Ceremony on April 8 at 7 p.m. at Hotel ZaZa (5701 Main Street).

Rice has 20 years of experience in the classroom and administrative education. She opened Hoover in 2017.

“CFISD has the best leaders,” Rice said. “It is an honor to be part of a team that desires to serve, learn, grow and work together to do what is best for our school community. To be selected as Elementary Principal of the Year by my peers is genuinely humbling and such an honor. I am grateful to have CFISD principals by my side in our journey. Thank you for helping me grow and continually challenging me to be my best. My Hoover family also deserves a big shout-out. The love, passion and dedication they display for our students and their families in every interaction fill me with joy each day. It is a privilege to #BeAHooverHero!”
