July 31, 2019—Soul Singh, assistant principal at Cypress Ridge High School, was named the new director of the Maybelline Forbes Carpenter Center. Singh replaces Chad Perry, who was named the senior director of special education in Galena Park ISD last month.
Singh is currently in her 15th year in education following three years as a community caseworker for Crossroads: Community Partnership for Youth, Inc. She became an adaptive behavior teacher at Cypress Ridge in 2004, serving in the role for eight years while also serving as the special education department chair. She became a special education administrator in 2012 and served in that role for four years.
In 2016, Singh was named to her current role.
Singh received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas and her Master of Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.
“I am both humbled and honored for the opportunity to serve the CFISD community as the director of the Maybelline Forbes Carpenter Center,” Singh said. “The Carpenter Center stands on the shoulders of committed and compassionate educators who exemplify the notion of ‘success for all students.’ I am excited to work alongside them. I look forward to building relationships with and serving the families, students, staff, and campuses that need the support of The Carpenter Center.”
