CFISD names incoming principal for ALC-East

July 26, 2017Rashad Godbolt, associate principal at Cypress Creek High School, was named the new principal at Alternative Learning Center-East on July 26. Godbolt replaces Laurie Snyder, who retired in June.

Godbolt’s 19-year education career began in East Baton Rouge Parish, La. where he spent four years as a language arts teacher and was a finalist for Teacher of the Year in 2001-2002. Godbolt also coached football, basketball and track. He then moved to Texas, joining Alief ISD where he spent five years as a sixth- and seventh-grade language arts teacher. In 2004-2005, Godbolt was elected Teacher of the Year at O’Donnell Middle School.

He moved to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 2007, taking on an administrative role as an assistant principal at Cypress Creek High School. Godbolt spent seven years in the role before becoming the school’s associate principal, serving three years.

Godbolt earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Education from Southern University.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and lead as the principal of Alternative Learning Center-East,” Godbolt said. “I am excited about the new journey and look forward to building meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents to help student maximize success. I am blessed to be a part of the Alternative Learning Center-East family!”
