Rich Dixon II
April 6, 2018—Rich Dixon II, associate principal at Cypress Ridge High School, was named the new principal at Goodson Middle School on April 6. Dixon replaces Sheri McCaig, who was named the assistant superintendent of secondary school administration in March.
Dixon has 19 years of experience in education, all spent in CFISD. His began his career as a United States History and Texas History teacher at Dean Middle School. After four years in that role, he moved to Cypress Ridge.
He spent one year as a teacher and team leader at Cypress Ridge before moving into administration, spending eight years as an assistant principal. Dixon then became the dean of instruction for two years before spending the last four as the school’s associate principal.
Dixon also served as summer school principal at Cy-Fair and Cypress Lakes high schools in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
Dixon received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the State University of New York at Buffalo and his Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and Social Studies Education from the University of Houston. He earned a Principal Certification from Stephen F. Austin State University.
