Feb. 6, 2018—Rocio Braley, assistant principal at Danish Elementary School, was named the new principal at M. Robinson Elementary School on Feb. 6. Braley replaces Irene Ruiz, who was named the director of community programs in December.
Braley’s 17-year education career began as a bilingual teacher at Hairgrove Elementary for three years, followed by two years at Hairgrove as a reading enrichment teacher. She then moved into administration at Danish Elementary School, becoming the at-risk testing coordinator in 2005 and an instructional specialist a year later. In 2007, she was promoted to assistant principal at Danish.
In 2014 and 2015, Braley served as a summer school principal.
Braley received her bachelor’s degree from the University of the Americas in Mexico and a Principal Certification from Sam Houston State University.
“I am thrilled about the opportunity to become a part of the M. Robinson family,” Braley said. “I’m looking forward to serving alongside the staff, parents and community members as we continue to provide the support, motivation and guidance our students need to excel. I am eager to celebrate the traditions that M. Robinson holds dear and create some new ones together.”
