August 1, 2017—Cesar Diaz, assistant principal at Bane Elementary School, was named the new principal at Reed Elementary School on August 1. Diaz replaces Kandy Bond, who accepted a principal position in Fort Bend ISD.
Diaz’s 13-year education career began in Houston at Southwest Schools Public Charter where he spent four years as a bilingual teacher and was Teacher of the Year in 2006. He then moved into administration at Southwest Schools Public Charter, serving four years as an assistant principal and one year as principal. Diaz joined Aldine ISD in 2013 and served two years as an assistant principal at Orange Grove Elementary School.
He moved to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in 2015 as an assistant principal at Bane Elementary School.
Diaz earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Engineering from Universidad Rafael Belloso Chacin in Venezuela, and Master of Education from Prairie View A&M University.
“I’m very excited and humbled to be named as the new principal at Reed Elementary,” Diaz said. “I am looking forward to serve this great school community and become part of the Reed family.”
