Jan. 15, 2019—Rene McIntyre, assistant principal at Sheridan Elementary School, was named the school’s new principal on Jan. 15. McIntyre replaces Gina Guidry, who will retire in January.
McIntyre is currently in her 28th year in education, all of which she has served in CFISD. She began as a teacher at Holbrook Elementary School before moving over to Sheridan in 1995, where she was the Teacher of the Year in 1998 and Suburban Houston Association for Bilingual Education ESL Teacher of the Year in 2004.
In 2005, McIntyre moved into an administrative role as the instructional specialist at Sheridan. She served in the role for four years before assuming her current role as assistant principal in 2009.
In 2013, McIntyre served as a summer school principal.
McIntyre received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Master of Education in Administration from Sam Houston State University.

I am excited to continue working with our families and staff as we work together to make Sheridan shine.”
