Dec. 15, 2017—Jamie Brotemarkle, director of instruction at Spillane Middle School, was named the new principal at Spillane on Dec. 15. Brotemarkle replaces Mike Maness, who was named the incoming principal for Cypress Ranch High School in November.
Brotemarkle has 22 total years of experience in education, including 14 years in CFISD. Her career began in Georgia as a teacher and soccer coach for five years.
She then moved into administration, serving as a counselor in Georgia for three years before Brotemarkle made her way to CFISD. She spent one years as a counselor at Aragon Middle School before helping open Spillane. Brotemarkle spent two years as a counselor before she was named an assistant principal, serving three years in that role.
Brotemarkle then became the director of instruction at Spillane, where she has been serving the past seven years. During her time as director of instruction, Brotemarkle also had the opportunity to be the High School Health Coordinator for four years.
Brotemarkle received her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University and her Master of Education in Counseling from Georgia State University.
“Being named the principal of Spillane Middle School is the biggest honor and privilege that I could imagine,” Brotemarkle said. “I look forward to continuing to work together with the best staff, students, parents and community to continue the tradition of excellence established here at Spillane. Thank you CFISD for trusting me with such a wonderful opportunity right here in the school that is home to me.”
