June 13, 2019—Connie Morgenroth was named the new assistant superintendent of business and financial services on June 13. Morgenroth replaces Karen Smith, named chief financial officer.
Morgenroth has 20 years of experience working in school district administration, including working with budgets, finance, accounting, auditing, risk management, bond program management, facilities, construction and operations. She started as an internal auditor in Clear Creek ISD where she also served as an accountant, operations financial manager and interim director of facilities and planning. Morgenroth then moved to serve as the chief financial officer for Santa Fe ISD before moving to Friendswood ISD to serve as chief financial officer. She was then promoted to assistant superintendent of business and operations, where she has served for the last two years.
Morgenroth received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas State University and became a certified public accountant for the state of Texas shortly after graduating college.
“I’m excited to join the CFISD team and look forward to working with such an outstanding group of educators,” Morgenroth said.
Morgenroth will start on Aug. 1, 2019.
