CFISD names new principal for Bleyl Middle School

Dec. 18, 2019Michelle Provo, director of instruction at Bridgeland High School, was named the principal at Bleyl Middle School on Dec. 18. Provo replaces Stacia Carew, who was named the first principal for CFISD’s 19th middle school, Rowe Middle School, on Nov. 13.

Provo has 25 years of experience in education, all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She began her career at Cypress Falls High School, where she spent 12 years as a world history teacher. Provo was honored as a Spotlight Teacher at Cypress Falls for the 2004-2005 school year.

In 2006, Provo moved into administration as she was named an assistant principal at Dean Middle School. She served in the role for two years before being named an assistant principal at Cy-Fair High School in 2008. She was named to her current role as director of instruction at Bridgeland High School in 2017.

Provo has served as a summer school assistant principal three times and as principal in 2006. She also twice served as director for CFISD’s Algebra Camp and as principal for Bridgeland High School’s End-of-Course prep program in 2019.

Provo received her Bachelor of Arts in History and her Master of Education in Administration from Prairie View A&M University. She holds a Leadership Partners certification from Rice University’s Executive Education Program.

Together we will maintain the excellence that has been a part of this community for many years and for many more years to come.”
