Aug. 2, 2019—Sage Papaioannou, director of instruction at Goodson Middle School, was named the new principal at Hamilton Elementary School on Aug. 2. Papaioannou replaces Joni Conn, who resigned to relocate following the 2018-2019 school year.
Papaioannou has 25 years in education, with 18 coming in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She began her career as a third- and fifth-grade teacher at Diboll, Spring Branch and Katy independent school districts. In 2005, she joined CFISD as a second-grade math and science teacher at Millsap Elementary School. Papaioannou then moved into a counseling role, spending three years each at Danish Elementary School and Aragon Middle School, and two years as lead counselor at Salyards Middle School.
Papaioannou moved into administration in 2014, becoming an assistant principal at Goodson Middle School where she served in the role for four years. She was then promoted to her current role.
Papaioannou earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University and her Master of Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. In addition, Papaioannou holds a principal certification, participated in the Aspiring Principal Institute, and is a graduate of the Rice Educational Entrepreneurship Program.
