June 11, 2019—Dr. Karen Stockton, principal at Lieder Elementary School, was named the principal at Post Elementary School on June 10. Stockton replaces Tomicka Williams, who was named the principal of Duryea Elementary School.

Stockton has 27 years of experience in education, all in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. She began her career as a teacher at Bane Elementary School, then moving to Metcalf and Holmsley elementary schools. Stockton then became a counselor at Lamkin and Birkes elementary schools before becoming an assistant principal at Birkes Elementary. In 2011, Stockton was selected as principal at Lieder Elementary School, where she has been serving for the last eight years.

Stockton earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Prairie View A&M University. In addition, Stockton received her Doctor of Education in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston in 2011. She has also completed the Rice Education Entrepreneurship Program (REEP) and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Coaching Certification.

“I am so thankful for the opportunity to serve as Post's next principal,” Stockton said. “I am eager to meet the Patriot staff, students and community, and look forward to continuing the rich traditions of excellence and student achievement!”
