CFISD retains No. 2 state ranking from Education Resource Group

July 11, 2016

July 11, 2016—The Education Resource Group (ERG), a data-driven company that provides accountability and performance management optimization for public schools, for the fourth consecutive year rated Cypress-Fairbanks ISD in the top two among the 200 largest districts in Texas for academic and financial performance in its 2015 Best Practice Awards.

The rating, released in the spring, follows two No. 1 productivity rankings in the 2012 and 2013 Best Practice Awards and a No. 2 ranking in 2014. Only Hearst-Euless Bedford ISD received a higher “District Productivity Index” rating for 2015.

The productivity rating measures academic achievement, performances and operating efficiency based on all funded expenditures for instruction, leadership, student support services and non-student support services.

“We continue to perform in the upper echelon of Texas districts, making the most of the funding entrusted to us by CFISD taxpayers,” said Dr. Mark Henry, superintendent of schools. “As we prepare to open a new campus, health care facility and natatorium in 2016-2017, we are proud that the ERG is validating our goal to serve all students while remaining academically and fiscally successful.”
