The Cypress Ranch High School Science Olympiad team placed seventh overall in the C Division of the Texas Science Olympiad, held May 3-4 at Texas A&M University. Three other CFISD high schools finished among the top 20, while Anthony Middle School placed 11th in the B Division.
May 29, 2019—CFISD high school and middle school students represented the district well at the 2019 Texas Science Olympiad, held May 3-4 at Texas A&M University in College Station.
Cypress Ranch High School placed the highest among all CFISD campuses, finishing seventh overall with 215 points in the C Division among 30 participating teams. The Mustangs earned second-place awards in Mission Possible, Mousetrap Vehicle and WiFi Lap, and third-place honors in Wright Stuff, Disease Detective and Fermi Questions.
Cypress Falls High School gave CFISD a second top-10 finisher in the C Division as the Golden Eagles placed 10th.
Two others finished among the top 20 – Jersey Village and Bridgeland high schools placed 16th and 17th, respectively. In addition, Bridgeland earned third-place honors in Music and WiFi Lab.
In the B Division, Anthony Middle School scored 257 total points and placed 11th overall among the 30 participating teams. The Ravens won the Mystery Architecture competition and earned third-place awards in Elastic Launched Gilder and Heredity. Kahla Middle School placed 26th overall.
