CFISD Student of the Week: Brittany Norman

March 19, 2018—Cypress Falls High School senior Brittany Norman is an accomplished swimmer who competes for the Golden Eagles in addition to serving as a swim instructor to younger students. Norman also has been in the school’s musical the last two years.

School: Cypress Falls High School

Age: 18

Grade: 12

 

Accomplishments: Norman has been a part of the Cypress Falls swim team for the past four years. In addition, she serves as a swim instructor to younger students, with two of her pupils placing at invitational meets at the end of last year’s summer league. Norman has also participated in choir and with the school musical the last two years.

Favorite class: AP History. “I have always loved history…and Mrs. (Diane) Riggs makes learning fun and interesting.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Swimming and teaching swimming lessons, listening to music and acting and singing in the school musicals.”

Favorite website: Spotify. “I love music and Spotify makes all of the music available all of the time.”

Favorite TV show: “Criminal Minds, both the new shows and all of the reruns. The reason is Dr. Reed, of course.”

Favorite movie: Mamma Mia. “I love musicals and Mamma Mia was the first one I ever saw. We went to a version of it in the theater that included the lyrics on the screen for audience participation. I’ve been a fan ever since.”

Ambition: “An ultimate goal is to become a nurse anesthetist. I love helping people …and have always been interested in the medical field.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Equal rights and personal and civil liberties.”

What inspires you?: “My love of animals and desire to see justice done. I want to help as much as I can.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “Pasta, cats and music.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “Performing in the musical.”
