Dec. 4, 2017—Salyards eighth-grade student Emmanuel Blanks serves both inside and out of his school community, helping volunteer at a food pantry while also serving as Beaux the Bengal at school.

School: Salyards Middle School

Age: 13

Grade: 8

Accomplishments: Blanks serves as Beaux the Bengal at Salyards, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is also in the Salyards band which received a Division 1 rating. In addition to his school activities, Blanks helps serve others at a food pantry.

Favorite class: “U.S. History because my teacher makes it fun and easy.”

Favorite things to do after class: “Talk to friends, church activities and help out my brother.”

Favorite song: “I love all genres.”

Favorite website: Roblox. “It is fun and I can socialize with people.”

Favorite TV show: Cops. “I want to be a police officer.”

Favorite movie: Spiderman. “I like action movies.”

Ambition: “To become a police officer because my father is a police officer.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Helping out the community.”

What inspires you?: “People sacrificing to help others.”

What three things can’t you live without? “God, family and friends.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “Getting good grades, helping out sixth graders and being a good example.”
