CFISD Student of the Week: Jayden Aguilar

March 4, 2019—M. Robinson Elementary School third-grade student Jayden Aguilar is credited by his teachers for making significant progress in his reading through his engagement to the material and his writing by the use of additional detail.

School: M. Robinson Elementary School

Age: 8

Grade: 3

 

Accomplishments: Aguilar made significant progress in the reading portion of his District Progress Monitoring (DPM) in the fall and it’s carried over to other subject areas. Teachers point to his engagement and participation in regards to the improvement, while Aguilar has shown better writing due to added details and dialogue.

Favorite Class: “Reading because I get to learn about things I don’t know about. I love nonfiction.”

Favorite thing to do after class: “My favorite thing to do after class is make new friends at daycare.”

Favorite song:Youngblood.

Favorite website: My favorite website is PBS Kids (pbdkids.org) because it is fun and teaches you at the same time.”

Favorite TV Show: “My favorite TV show is Gravity Falls because at the end of season 1 the characters find out who wrote the journals.”

Favorite movie: “My favorite movie is Home because it tells you how to become friends with someone.”

Ambition: “My ambition is to improve my grades in math because I like making progress.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I am passionate about my family and friends because they are always there for me.”

What inspires you?: “My big sister inspires me because when she always tells me and herself that we can do better.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “Water, family and love.”
