CFISD Student of the Week: Kimberly Dominguez

Feb. 14, 2017—Thornton Middle School sixth-grade student Kimberly Dominguez is a member of the Patriots orchestra and has maintained perfect attendance in 2016-2017. The A/B Honor Roll student loves scientist but also loves grammar and has been known to correct improper usage. Dominguez, who is inspired by her mother’s work ethic, desires to pursue a career in medicine as a pediatrician.

Accomplishments: Plays the violin in the school orchestra; perfect attendance; A/B Honor Roll student.

Favorite class: Science. “I love doing experiments and how I can interact with everyone.”

Favorite things to do after class: Reading, walking my dog (Abby), riding my bike and helping my mom prepare dinner.

Favorite song: Hello by Adele

Favorite website: Coolmath.

Favorite TV show: A Series of Unfortunate Events. “It’s a realistic drama.”

Favorite movie: Beauty & The Beast. “It’s live action and I love the music.”

Ambition: “I want to become a pediatrician. I love babies and want to make babies feel better whenever they are sick.”

What topics/things are you passionate about? Grammar, dogs, interesting places to visit and international food.

What inspires you? “My mom inspires me. She works two jobs and also cleans houses. Her determination to provide for my sister and I inspires me every day. She cooks every day and still makes time to ride a bike with us or take us to the swimming pool.”

What three things can’t you live without? My dog, my friends and my family.

What are you most looking forward to this year? “Making new friends and helping people.”
