CFISD Student of the Week: Navya Makkapati


May 29, 2018—Danish Elementary School fifth-grader Navya Makkapati excels as a well-rounded student as she was on the distinguished honor roll and a member of the Name That Book campus champions and art club, as well as being named Danish’s Student of the Month.

Accomplishments: Makkapati was named Danish Elementary School’s Student of the Month, was named to the distinguished honor roll and participated in Name That Book.

Favorite class: “Language Arts because I love to read and write fantasy stories.”

Favorite things to do after class: “I like to read high school-level fantasy books that I get from the Harris County Public Library.”

Favorite song: The Hanging Tree by James Newton Howard featuring Jennifer Lawrence

Favorite website: “because I want to break a world record someday.”

Favorite TV show: Trollhunters “because it has a cliff hanger and comes back with an exciting new season.”

Favorite movie: Bahubali “because the graphics are impressive and there is lots of exaggeration.”

Ambition: “I want to be a distinguished honor roll student for the rest of my life because I want to get a really good job.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “Writing songs for my friend’s album, singing with my little choir, The Prophecies, and swimming competitively.”

What/who inspires you?: “Aelin from Throne of Glass is my role model because she is brave, confident and strong.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “Books, swimming and music.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I would like to do the projects after STAAR test.”
