CFISD Student of the Week: Srikar Karri

Nov. 4, 2019—Pope Elementary School third grade student Srikar Karri is recognized for being a gifted and talented student, being an active student in-class activities and being a distinguished honor roll student.

School: Pope Elementary School

Age: 8

Grade: 3

Accomplishments: Karri can do mental calculations of three-digit numbers both in addition and subtraction. He also participates in Indian classical singing competitions and traditional events. Karri is a three-year member of Destination Imagination and plans to continue in the future.

Favorite Class: “Math, because I am very good at it.”

Favorite thing to do after class: “I love swimming and playing tennis. I also like playing with my little brother.”

Favorite song:Cheap Thrills by Sia.”

Favorite website: “Imagine Math, because it lets me solve more math problems.”

Favorite TV show:Teen Titans Go!, because it is a very funny show.”

Favorite movie:Toy Story 4, because I watched it recently and I liked Forky, Bunny and Ducky. They act very silly in the movie.”

Ambition: “I would like to become an engineer at NASA because I think it is cool to work at NASA. I would also like to become an enterprise architect like my dad.”

What topics/things are you passionate about?: “I like building things with materials that are available at home. I also like to learn interesting facts about astronauts and space.”

What inspires you?: “My dad inspires me because he teaches me a lot of cool tips and tricks in Math.”

What three things can’t you live without?: “My family, chicken and my toys.”

What are you most looking forward to this semester?: “I want to learn how things work by doing some fun projects in class.”
