Cypress Creek High School Head Football Coach Greg McCaig (center in blue top) has led the Cougars to the Division II-6A regional championship round of the postseason for the second consecutive year.
“From a program standpoint, that’s eight extra games. We’ve almost played a full season with those kids getting extra practice and everything that goes with it,” said Greg McCaig, Cypress Creek head football coach and campus athletic coordinator. “Culturally, the expectation is we’re supposed to play deep into the playoffs. Of course, that’s mitigated by how many good athletes you have, but it’s really important.
“You can ask any administrator. If you have a good football season to start the year, the whole year goes pretty good.”
